Executive Summary

In a fast-moving e-commerce environment, delayed reporting often leads to delayed decisions. To solve this, we developed a real-time revenue intelligence project that gives businesses instant visibility into their sales, orders, active marketplaces, and weekly reporting views. 
Using Amazon SP-API as the primary data source, we built a live reporting ecosystem that automatically fetches and refreshes performance data every 15 minutes. The result is a highly visual, decisive dashboard system that help teams monitor revenue trends, compare YOY performance, and quickly identify growth driven factor.

  
Challenges 

The business needed a faster and more reliable way to track revenue performance across multiple marketplaces. Traditional reporting methods were tedious, needed manual work, and often lacked the flexibility needed for real-time decision-making. 

The main challenges were clear:  

  • Sales and order data needed to be visible on a daily and weekly basis
  • Performance had to be segmented by marketplace
  • Revenue needed to be standardized and shown in euros
  • Teams needed a live overview without constantly exporting reports manually
  • Management wanted a clear view of current-year vs. previous-year performance 

The goal was not just to build another dashboard, but to create a live performance monitoring solution that could support operational, commercial, and strategic decisions throughout the day.

  
The Solution 

We designed and implemented a real-time revenue dashboard framework powered by Amazon SP-API and automated data refreshing every 15 minutes. 
The system pulls live sales and order data from multiple marketplaces, process it into a structured reporting model, and displays it across a set of focused dashboards. 
The project was built around four key reporting areas: 


 

  1. Daily and Weekly Sales & Orders Dashboard

    A dedicated dashboard was created to track both sales and orders in real time. This gave teams a direct view of current business momentum, with separate perspectives for short-term daily monitoring and broader weekly performance evaluation. 

    This dashboard helps answer questions such as:  
    1. How are sales performing today? 
    2. Are orders tracking ahead of or behind expectations this week? 
    3. Which marketplaces are contributing the most revenue right now?


  2. Active Markets Dashboard

    A second dashboard was developed to show the performance of active marketplaces. This makes it easier to understand which regions or country marketplaces are currently driving results and where attention may be needed.
    This is especially valuable for international sellers managing multiple Amazon markets at once, as it creates immediate clarity around regional performance.




  3. Current Year vs. Previous Year Comparison Dashboard

    To support better strategic analysis, we added a column-stacked chart dashboard that compares the current year against the previous year. This give stakeholders a strong visual overview of growth patterns, seasonal shifts, and trend changes over time.
    Instead of relying on static spreadsheets, teams can now spot performance differences instantly through a more intuitive visual layer.

This project was built using a practical and scalable modern data stack focused on live marketplace reporting. 
Amazon SP-API was used as the core data source to fetch near real-time sales and order data directly from Amazon marketplaces. Through the API, we connected marketplace performance data into a structured reporting flow, enabling consistent tracking across daily and weekly periods. 
Python was the main programming language to handle the backend logic of the project. It was responsible for 

  • Data extraction
  • Transformation
  • Marketplace-level processing
  • Euro-based sales formatting
  • Refresh automation, and preparation of the datasets used in the dashboards. 

 

Python helped turn raw API responses into clean, analysis-ready data. 

Streamlit was used to build the dashboard interface. This made it possible to create interactive and visually clear reporting dashboards that display live sales, orders, active markets, year-over-year comparisons, and top-performing products in a user-friendly way. Streamlit also supported the fast deployment of the dashboard environment, making the solution both accessible and easy to maintain. 
Together, these technologies created a lightweight but powerful reporting system that refreshes automatically every 15 minutes, giving the business a reliable real-time view of performance across multiple marketplaces.
